La Trinidad, Benguet is home to Panaspulan Strawberry Festival, or more commonly known as La Trinidad Strawberry Festival. It started in 1981 as then – Mayor Hilarion Pawid to encourage local farmers to plant strawberries in lieu of other vegetables Benguet is known for. His legacy precedes him, as La Trinidad Strawberry Festival did bring stable farming produce to the community, in which they also benefit and at the same time, the tourists lovingly patronizes.

The town brought the game to the next level when in March 20, 2004, they successfully mounted and baked the Largest Strawberry Shortcake in the Guinness World Records. To this day, La Trinidad, Benguet still enjoys the prestige.

Even before the La Trinidad Strawberry Festival comes to its peak in March, an influx of tourists already visit La Trinidad to do strawberry picking, a must-do in the strawberry farm. Farmers plant strawberries in October and November and tourists get the chance to harvest themselves the strawberries from January until May, at a price. Apart from strawberry picking, tourists can expect to buy a whole range of strawberry products: wine, jam, cake, and a whole lot more of novelty products.
