Here are some of the notable women around the globe that you can take inspiration:
Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach (Miss Universe 2015): “You can’t let go. You have to really believe that you can and you will and it’s not gonna be easy at all. It might take a while. You have to keep working hard. You will encounter challenges that will frustrate you, but don’t ever lose your faith. That’s what will keep everything intact.”
Sheryl Sandberg (Facebook’s Chief Operating Officer): “We need women at all levels, including the top, to change the dynamic, reshape the conversation, to make sure women’s voices are heard and heeded, not overlooked and ignored.”
Angela Merkel (Forbe’s World’s Most Powerful Woman of 2015): “If you say you are going to do something then you must do it.”
Shonda Rhimes (Creator, Executive Producer of “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Scandal,” and “How To Get Away With Murder”): “I said yes to less work and more play, and somehow I still run my world. My brain is still global. My campfires still burn. The more I play, the happier I am, and the happier my kids are. The more I play, the more I feel like a good mother.”
Lady Gaga (Singer, actress, women’s rights advocate): “Raise your voice to make change. Protect every woman and man from sexual violence in the workplace and beyond.”
On March 8: Women, run the world!
8. Panic Day [March 9]
Who among you never experienced panic attacks in any moment of your lives? Your life is perfect, congratulations! Rudyard Kipling, an English Journalist said “If you can keep your head, while all around are losing theirs…you’ve probably forgotten it is Panic Day.”
So for those who always dread cut-offs, deadlines, traffic jams in a hectic day, hail to you, you’ll have a whole day to succumb yourself to the terror and suppressed emotion you’ve experience while having an attack.
Scream your angst! Flap your arms, run around in circles, or just stay in bed quivering with your head under the pillow, or do anything you’d like to do to feel better. They say a good panic is contagious, so be sure to spread the Panic Day holiday with your friends, family, and colleagues.
9. Day of Awesomeness [March 10]
Did you know that, according to National Day Calendar, Chuck Norris is the Patron Saint of Awesomeness? For those who didn’t know Chuck Norris, he is an American martial artist, actor, film producer, and screenwriter. For why he’s the saint, maybe it’s because he was born on March 10. You’d never know, he might be an awesome inspiration to the one who curated this holiday—Kevin Lawver.
Lawver, spearheaded this Day of Awesomeness in August 2007, when his awesomeness was celebrated by his interns. With that, he posted his sentiments in Twitter and there came the International Day of Awesomeness. This day, just be awesome!
10. International Ask A Question Day [March 14]
Who-What-Where-When-Why-How and the many questions you could possibly think of can be freely raised on this day. It’s your opportunity to ask that burning question that’s been festering you every night. There are no crazy, lame, or stupid questions on this day, so ask it out!
11. True Confessions Day [March 15]
True Confessions Day is a day created to inspire people to let go and be honest of their feelings. It also aims to cleanse the troubled heart and move on with a clear conscience.
On this day, be open and your feelings all out!
12. No Selfie Day [March 16]
Who wouldn’t know how to do a selfie, which even a three-year-old kid can? It’s been a trend in social media nowadays: taking a photo of yourself (a selfie) in anywhere you are or whatever you’re doing then posting it in your accounts.
Psychologists even say that taking a selfie is very addictive, narcissistic, and psychologically damaging. So, No-Selfie day was established to help cast a light on just how much this has become a part different culture. Furthermore, taking selfie may seem harmless but very damaging once you’ve experienced posting one without any notice. If notice = appreciation and self-worth, what does that say about not being noticed?
You want to raise awareness? Do not take selfies on this day and start living your life and be in the moment rather than trying to capture and edit it.
13. Awkward Moments Day [March 18]
