The single also includes “Boombayah,” their first number one Billboard World Digital Songs chart, which set the record as the most-viewed debut music video by a Korean act. They are the first and only K-POP girl group to enter and top Billboard‘s Emerging Artists chart. They became the first girl group that debuted under YG in six years after 2NE1.

On June 2018, Blackpink released its debut extended play titled “Square Up” with the futuristic trap song, “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du” as their title track. The group collaborated with Dua Lipa with the song, “Kiss and Make Up” in October 2018.
