The Megastar, announced it through her social media accounts that she’d be having another two day concert, after her last concert in Araneta way back 1984, the ‘Sharon, Solo with the Boys’. Her concert set on September 28 and 29 is to celebrate her 40 years in showbusiness. The concert, ‘Sharon: My 40 years’ would be the biggest, and hardest for her, said the Megastar in one of her social media posts, which immediately garnered attention and support from her fans. Aside from her Araneta show, her celebration of her 40 years in the business also includes a year-long concert tour, with confirmed stops in Bacolod on June 1 and in Bohol on July 14.

Megastar started her singing career at the tender age of 12
After being discovered by Tito Sotto, then the vice president of Vicor Music and now her aunt Helen Gamboa’s husband, at a party at the age of 11, her parents decided to allow her to record her first single entitled, ‘Tawag ng Pag-ibig’ as a gift for her 13th birthday.
She got her first gold medal award at the age of 13
After her first single, ‘Tawag ng Pag-ibig’, 12 year-old Sharon went on to record another song, this time composed by Rey Valera. She got her first gold medal award for her single, ‘Mr. DJ’, which proves to be timeless as it still is famous even among today’s youth.
She was only 15 when she starred in her first romantic film
It was in the year 1981 that Sharon starred in her first box office film, Dear Heart, with then Close up model and 1980s heartthrob, Gabby Concepcion. She was only fifteen at that time, and it took a lot to convince her parents to allow her to shift from singing to acting. After Dear Heart, and the success of it, clamor from fans called for more Sharon and Gabby films which spawned, P.S. I Love You and My Only Love.

Just eight months after her 18th birthday, Sharon Cuneta married her on screen partner Gabby Concepcion on September of 1984. Their wedding ceremony was filmed and later released as Sharon & Gabby. The couple had a daughter, KC Concepcion, and they eventually parted ways in 1987.
