Celebrating its 50th year, expect a grand production from the American hit Tribal Love-Rock Musical – Hair. It will be happening on November 17 – December 17, 2017, at the Onstage Theatre, 2nd floor of Greenbelt Mall 1 in Makati.
Hair the Musical will definitely be a memorable one because it is directed by Chris Millado and Choreography care of PJ Rebulida.
Since the story has contents of drugs and explicit things, hence, Hair the Grande Musical will be strictly for adults only.
THE INTERESTING STORY OF THE HIPPIES
Claude, Berger, Jeannie, Shelia, and Woof are long-haired hippies who belong to a politically active tribe led by Berger. The story captures the sixties vibes which make it more interesting.
The story began when Claude Hooper Bukowski came to America while on his way to enlist in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He meets up with the Central Park Hippies and conflict starts when Claude and Berger meet upper-middle-class debutante Sheila Franklin.
MEET THE CAST OF THE MUSICAL
Claude Hooper Bukowski
In this award-winning production comes a stellar line-up of the cast. Claude Hooper Bukowski will be alternately played by Markki Stroem and Topper Fabregas.
Markki Stroem is a no stranger to the entertainment industry. He takes an active role performing in ASAP, a noontime variety show every Sunday, and is today’s Sexy Jazz Artist.
Topper Fabregas, on the other hand, admitted that he never liked performing as a child. Rather, he wanted to become a writer and would join Journalism contests. There was even a time that her friends dared him to audition at The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe musical, and got a callback. He even shared that he didn’t even know what callback meant that time.
After working non-stop at the age of 19 to 25, he decided to fly to New York and study acting at Circle in the Square Theatre School. He began making his mark in the US and even got his Equity card. When he came back to Manila, it seems like that the theater landscape would change his life.
Now let’s meet the rebellious and de-facto head of the hippie tribe, George Berger, which will be played by George Schulze. Berger is known for celebrating the anti-war sensibilities and counterculture of all kinds. He started training at a very young age and has attended several workshops on film and stage acting, therefore, mastering his craft. He made a debut in 2008 by starring in Rapunzel, and as the prince in Sleeping Beauty. Repertory Philippines also invited him to be part of their productions of Peter Pan and Seussical.
Currently, George is at The Group Singapore’s international production of THE BOSTON THE KITCHEN MUSICAL. He plays as Rick the dishwasher which is airing on Lifestyle Network. One of the projects that did make her mark in the theater world is him playing at the 50 Shades! The Musical Parody. Almost notable theater connoisseur know Schulze because of his remarkable talent.
Caisa Borromeo, a seasoned theater actress who will play the role of Sheila Franklin, the love interest in the story. Borromeo started her theater career in early 2000 with Repertory Philippines with a role in Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. As a result of her hard work, he has received the 2010 Philstage Gawad Buhay Best Female Lead in a Musical. She portrayed Jo March in “Little Women.”
